Changes...

Well, it's time for Hubby and I to say good-bye to the "Cool Adult Playroom". In just 3 short days, the pool table was dismantled and delivered to its new owner, a wall was put up and the Baby's room was built, finished, and painted. Bye Pool Table, I miss you already :( One last look at the open space... And the construction begins. This is what it looked like on Friday Morning. The wall and the closets were framed out quickly.

By Sunday evening we had two finished products...

First, we'll start with Doodle Bug's "Big Boy Room"!!! He LOVES it and even helped with the design and layout.

This is his big boy bed. It has a twin size trundle underneath it for when he has sleepovers :) He's been sleeping in it for about 2 weeks now and LOVES it!!!! Somehow, he manages to stay right in the middle and doesn't really toss and turn at all.

I free hand drew that car on the wall. Okay, just kidding, it's a wall decal that can peel off.

Doodle Bug was given the option as to what it should say under the car. He chose "Fast Car". He reads it every night before going to bed :)

On the other wall he has a race track.

And here is Jitter Bug's room!!! Jitter Bug will be here in just a few short weeks :) I've given her the name Jitter Bug because she has NOT stopped moving for the past 5 weeks. I'm serious, she NEVER sleeps. She uses my lungs as her personal trampoline and my bladder as her punching bag. Doodle Bug loves to put his head on my belly because she will kick him every time... sibling love already!

When I found out I was having a girl, I didn't want a pink room...guess that changed!

We still have to hang the wall art, but that will come in time. I'm slowing down these days, even though I'm trying to fight it :)

Jitter Bug is already spoiled. I would love to have a Double Closet like hers. It's already filling up fast thanks to friends and family!!!!

Here is the new playroom for the kiddos. We still plan to add shelves and toy chests, but I think we did enough in 3 days.

That wall is right where the pool table used to sit.

This is the new view from looking down the hallway.

So excited for Jitter Bug to arrive!!!

Doodle Bug is Potty Trained!!!!

Well, my goal was to have Doodle Bug potty trained by the time he was 2 1/2 years old. Today, February 22, Doodles is 2.5 years old AND he is POTTY TRAINED!!!! Way to go, Doodles!!! He will still have 1-2 accidents per week (usually #2). But, overall, he's trained!!! He even sleeps through the night and stays dry. When he wakes up, he goes potty!!!!

In case you haven't noticed, Doodles is very stubborn. We can't say, "go potty!" Instead, we have to give him a choice. So we say, "do you want to go on the potty or do you want to use the toilet?" He's about 50/50. He'll use both.

How did we do it? Well, Doodles is OBSESSED with Hotwheels. So we got a basket and filled it with Hotwheels. Everytime he uses the potty, he gets to choose a new car. Actually, this basket is also great for curbing temper tantrums too!

Congratulations Doodle Bug!!!!! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!!!!!!

January update

Well, January was off to a rough start of this new year! It began with Doodle Bug coming down with an awful cough and double ear infection. Luckily, he got over it quickly and he was well again in 5-7 days.
Unfortunately, I got it next! Mine started on January 8. Coughing and sore throat. There isn't much you can take while pregnant, so the doctors prescribed Clindamycin. I took it for a week and it didn't clear up the cold, it turned into conjunctivitis...yuck. I was given a low dose of eye drops antibiotics and sent on my way. Two days later I had a SEVERE ear ache. Have you ever had an ear ache as an adult? OMG! I would have rather given birth than deal with that pain! So the doctor gave me ear drops. Three days later, Sinusitis! Seriously, I was at my witts end! I begged Hubby to just take me to the hospital and drop me off. He wouldn't. So I begged my Doctor to give me penicillin even though I'm allergic to it. I'd suffer through the reaction, just to get rid of this cold. He wouldn't. He gave me an other prescription of Clindamycin. Yep, the same drugs that didn't work before, now I'm back on them. A week later, now we are into February, I finished the drugs, but felt worse. Finally, after a month of hell, my OB would finally see me. I went in and explained what has been going on over the last month and said I've had enough. Either cut the baby out and give me drugs, or find something that will work and is safe for the baby! She prescribed and ZPack. I just finished that prescription yesterday (February 9) and today is the first day that I actually am feeling back to myself. I still have this annoying cough, but I can live with that for now.
So, needless to say, we did not do much for the month of January. In fact, the only thing we did was take Doodle bug to the Monster Truck Show. We had bought the tickets back in December, and I didn't care how bad I felt, I wasn't missing his first truck show. He loves to watch the trucks on T.V. So when he saw them in person, he was wide eyed and all smiles. Here are some pictures from the show.

Grave Digger and the Puppy truck are his 2 favorites!

Here is Grave Digger!

You can barely tell I'm pregnant! And, I'm 7 months!!!!
Below are just some cute pics of DB eating a cupcake.

He hates to have food on his face, so he always keeps a napkin handy :)

Christmas Day

The next morning, we woke up and went to church. After church we opened our presents that Santa delivered at night while we were sleeping. Doodle Bug couldn't believe that there was more!!!

Doodle Bug enjoyed his third Christmas. It was so exciting as parents to watch the sparkle in DB's eyes when Santa showed up and when he played with his toys. He has actually played all day long: rockets, kites, cars, planes, and trains. A boy's dream come true.

We started the Holiday by making and decorating Christmas Cookies for Santa. Doodle Bug really got into it this year. I showed him the steps and he did the rest. The hardest part was keeping him from eating the raw cookie dough!

Later that evening, we went to Grandma and Papaw's house for dinner and presents. Doodle Bug was coming down with a cough and stuffy nose, so we started with a nebulizer treatment. After dinner, Doodles was coloring in Grandma's office. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. SANTA had arrived. Doodle Bug had been talking about Santa all month. But, now that he was here, DB wasn't to fond of him. I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

Ride Makerz!!!!

So, while we were walking around Downtown Disney, we stumbled upon a place called, Ride Makerz!! Well, many of you have heard of "Build a Bear" workshop. This is similar, except you build your own car. Doodle Bug and Dadda were in heaven!!!! At the front of the shop, they have several real cars on display... which of course was just the START of the excitement!
Next, the boys picked out the body of the car. There were so many to choose from, but finally they agreed upon a lime green colored Challenger. Then they had to pick out just the right wheels and tires. For us ladies, it would be similar to picking out just the right shoes and jewelry for our outfit. (However, I think we can find shoes and jewelry faster than it took the boys to find the right rims!!!)

A quick check from the "official" to make sure we had chosen all of the right parts...

...and then they were off to build!!! Here is the first car that Father and Son built. I'm sure it won't be the last!

I wasn't sure who had more fun :)

Can you see the excitement in his eyes???

Putting on the finishing touches...

The two boys had so much fun together! I love watching them do things together. Hubby is such a great Dad. Doodle Bug is so blessed to have such a caring father who loves to spend time with him. I love you, babe!
