If you've got the 7 year itch... don't scratch!

Today is our 7th anniversary! Hubby took the day off from work to spend it with Doodle Bug and me! Doodles decided to give us a GREAT start to our day. For months I've been trying to teach Doodles to point to his nose, how to sort shapes, how to walk...with no success yet! However, things I don't teach him, he seems to pick up quickly. For example, this morning, when I handed him his sippy cup of milk, he decided to twist the top off and pour all 8 oz on his lap! No relaxing anniversary breakfast for Mom and Dad! That was the first mess we had the pleasure of cleaning.
After we cleaned the milk and bathed Doodle Bug, we let him crawl around to "tire" himself. I was on the phone with my Granny, but had my eyes on him the entire time. He was playing with my nail polish while sitting on my white bathroom rug. (You see where this is going, right?) Doodles decides he likes the noise it makes when he clanks the two bottles together and before I could reach out and stop him, I had hot pink, OPI nail polish all over my fairly new white bath rugs!! (Big Sigh)
Anyways, Doodle Bug's Grandma came over to babysit that evening while hubby and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at Roys! Here we are saying goodnight to Doodles before we head out!

When we got to our table, this is what we saw on the first page of the menu! Cheesy, but fun!

Here are the love birds at dinner.
Roys even gave us a complimentary dessert! Chocolate Souffle with a message written on the plate!
We enjoyed our day together as a family, even with Doodle Bug's "Fun Surprises"! These past 7 years have been wonderful and I look forward to 70 more!

Doodle Bug is getting so tall! Last year, he couldn't even stand or sit next to the scarecrow and look at him this year!
Doodle Bug's Aunts came over and we all went to Celebration for the "Falling Leaves" Festival. For those of you who don't live in Orlando, Celebration is the town owned by Disney. When we first drove into the town, we spotted several wild pigs snorting around one of the homes!

After the piggy sighting, we parked the car and walked around main street to kill time (the leaves only fall at the top of the hour). We went into this cute little store, I can't remember the exact name of it, but it was something like: "Spotted dog". Anyways, it sold ice cream, cookies, baby clothes, and even had a cookie decorating station set up in the back. They had really cute Halloween t-shirts for toddlers. Doodles allready has several for this year, so I didn't buy one. However, I plan on going back the day after Halloween and buying one for next year on sale! Below is Doodle Bug sitting in the dog house at the store.

Those are his "gang" signs!! I don't know why he does this, or where he even learned it from, but he seems to be doing it a lot lately!

Daddy and Doodles walking down main street.

Across the street was a large pond with ducks. Here Daddy is showing Doodles the ducks and listening to them quack!

Mommy and Doodles waiting for the leaves to fall. The anticipation builds...

Yep, that is what we drove all the way out to Celebration and waited an hour to see! A few sparse paper leaves blowing around. Doodles had fun watching it. If you blinked too fast, you might have missed it!

Here we all are looking so thrilled that we saw the leaves fall...that's what you get in Florida! At least the temperature felt great... a cool 68 degrees!

Way too much excited for one night, time to go home! Goodnight!!

Columbus Day!

Columbus sailed the ocean blue in fourteen hundred ninety two!
Doodle Bug learned (or should I say listened) about Christopher Columbus today. He even got to eat one of his ships for a snack!

Happy Columbus day!!!

Fall Fun!!

Since Doodle Bug wasn't so good at finger painting, I thought I'd try his toes! We dipped his foot in white paint then pressed it on the orange construction paper. He must have loved the feel of the slimy paint on his toes, because he was all smiles and loved rubbing his feet together! Here is our finished product!

We also made some footprint ghost cards with poems inside for all the Grandparents and Great-Grandparents!

Doodle Bug also went to visit the Pumpkin Patch at St. Luke's. We went there last year as well, when he was only about 7 weeks old. Since I didn't have this blog set up back then, I'll start with pictures from one year ago. Then move onto the present!

Above, sleeping peacefully through the pictures! Below, he has had enough!! We call that his pumpkin pout! He still does that face today!

All smiles again at home!
This year, at St. Luke's, he found one pumpkin in particular that he was fascinated with. He would not put it down, so it made its way into every photo!

Here (above) is that little pumpkin! Can you find it in the picture below?

(Just having some fun with Photoshop!)

The pumpkins and gourds that are in the picture above are the ones we went home with.

Doodles held his pumpkin the whole ride home and when we got there, I gave him stickers to decorate his pumpkin!

First Old Car Show and First Haircut!!!

On Saturday, October 3, Doodle Bug went to his first car show. He had so much fun hanging out with his Daddy and looking at all the cars. It was the first car show held at the Winter Garden Village and we saw Chevelles, Camaros, Corvettes, Mustangs, and others all from the 60's and early 70's.

Make sure to notice his long hair in these pictures above, because on Tuesday, October 6, Doodles got his first haircut. Before Daddy left for work, we went out into the garage and Doodle Bug sat on Mom's lap. Dad got the clippers ready and set it at a level 6. Doodles loved the noise the clippers made and sat there as Dad trimmed away at his beautiful soft hair. His hair is so fine and soft, that the clippers had a hard time cutting it, but we finally got it all done! Daddy loved being the one to give his son his first haircut.

Here is my handsome little devil!

...and here is a side view of the do!
No, that's not a bald spot on the side of his head. It's just the way the light was hitting his hair.
