Apple Picking and Fun at the Beach

Doodle Bug and I went to South Florida to visit my parents. They have an apple tree in their front yard. Yes, I said apple tree. There is a special type of apple tree that grows in Florida. The apples were ripe and ready to be harvested. So Grandma thought it was time to put Doodle Bug to work...picking apples!

First, he had to pluck the apple from the branch.

Next, he placed it in the basket.

Then, he had to wash the apples.

And, finally he was able to eat it!
He took a long nap after all of that! He was pooped!

When he woke from his nap, we all went to visit my sister and see her new place. She lives across the street from the beach. Below is the view from her balcony.

Besides the power lines being in the way, it's a gorgeous sight. If you woke up everyday to that sight, it's hard to be in a bad mood!
Doodles posing on Aunt C's couch.
Aunt C walked him across the street to the beach.
Doodles first time seeing and hearing the ocean!

He didn't sit still for long. He couldn't wait to get a fist full of sand!
He's definitely a boy...a messy boy. He loved doing the army crawl and getting sand in his belly button!
First dip in the ocean
Look at the expression on his face! He loved to watch the waves come crashing on the shoreline!
Doodles kept trying to "catch a wave".
Time to rinse off and head back to Aunt C's home! We were on the beach for a whole 20 minutes! I think Doodles would have loved to spend the entire day there!

Hubby's First Father's Day!!!!

I wanted Hubby's First Father's Day to be nice and relaxing. I planned on making him breakfast and his favorite foods for lunch and dinner and Doodle bug and I would show him how much we love and appreciate him. My cousins (T and S), their spouses (C and M) and their girls (K and S) were up at Disney so they decided to stop by Saturday morning. So I decided to make Father's day breakfast on Saturday instead for everyone to enjoy. In the past year, I've learned how to cook great dinners, but I usually don't do the cooking when we have company. Hubby is a much better cook than I am. However, I've seen Hubby do it millions of times and it looked pretty easy. I was making waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, turkey bacon, and eggs. Well, the first waffle turned out perfectly, unless C and S were lying, but they ate it. The next waffle, I was socializing a little too much and didn't hear the timer go off...it was burnt and inedible. The next waffle, I didn't put enough batter on the cooker, so the waffle was a little see-through. T called it a skinny waffle and ate it anyways. Meanwhile, Hubby started cooking the eggs. Which I noticed M said "No thank you" to the waffles, but had some of Hubby's eggs...hmm!!! Cousin T asked for some milk for his coffee. Unfortunately for him, we only had Almond Milk. I reached to grab it for him and the tray of raw eggs were in front of it. Yes, I knocked the whole tray on the floor and had about 6 raw eggs to clean up off our tile. BACKGROUND INFO: My mom is a horrible cook...sorry mom. My cousin's father, Uncle J, always makes fun of her for it. Well, when the eggs fell, T said, "Good thing my Dad wasn't here to see this! He'd never let you live it down!" Well, for the record, I can cook a delicious dinner. I just suck at breakfast! It's my least favorite meal and I actually prefer to skip breakfast all together :o)
Here are some pictures of Doodle Bug and his 2nd cousins.

So, our next meal of the day, we went out to eat! Doodle Bug took his Dad to his favorite restaurant, Amuras. Hubby's Mom, Step dad, and Granny came with us. Here are my two handsome guys!
On Sunday, actual Father's Day, we all went to church. Afterwards, Hubby's Mom and Granny came back for some home-made pizza. We ended the day with a little shopping at the outlet malls.
To my wonderful Hubby-- Doodle Bug and I think you are the most caring, loving man in the world. We are so lucky to have you in our lives. Thank you for being a perfect provider, a helpful husband, and most of all, a FABULOUS Father! We love you!

Girls night out!

I know this blog is supposed to be about my little Doodle bug, but I had so much fun last night that I want to share!

Once a month, a group of friends and I get together and do something fun. Last night, we signed up to take an Antigravity Yoga class. This is a class in which you sit in a silk swing and do yoga poses. When we arrived at the facility, we were told that they didn't have our reservation. We were all bummed because we have really been looking forward to this evening and you know how hard it is to get a good sitter. Luckily, there was an instructor there that was certified in Aerial Silk, and she agreed to teach us. Yeah! Thankfully, all four of us were pretty strong, because this took a lot of strength and coordination! I can't wait to go back!!!!

Family Weekend!

My Poppop's 78th Birthday was June 11 and my Grandmother threw him a birthday bash at his favorite restaurant, Beef O'Brady's :o) It was fun to get the whole family together... all 4 generations! My Grandparents have 3 Great Grand kids!!
On Sunday, we went boating! Both of my sisters were hesitant to get into the lake water. We grew up going to the beach and were immune to the fear of sharks in the water. However, the Butler Chain is the first lake water we have ever gone into! I think we have a Gator-phobia! It took a couple of years, but I'm getting used to it. My sisters, on the other hand, didn't want their feet to touch the bottom. Here we are all sharing the same raft!

I think we're sinking!

Here is my sister learning to drive the boat. Lord help us!

Cousin J was still in town, so she learned to wake board. Look at her go!!!!

Here we are saying "Good-Bye" to everyone!

Lots to say, today!

Well, this picture marks the end to one chapter in my life and the beginning of a new one. Although I've been a "Stay at home Mom" for almost a year, I've also officially been on maternity leave. In the back of my mind, I thought I would return to teaching. However, I resigned yesterday. I'm going to miss it...a little, but I am very fortunate to be able to stay home with my Doodlebug. Since I have so much free time on my hands, I've decided that it's time to start having more babies. I would like to have about 3 or 4 more. This way I can have my own classroom at home!

On another note, I am finally DONE nursing!!! I tried to make it to one year, but this "special" diet I had to be on due to Doodle's Milk/Soy Intolerance was tough. I feel a little bad that I didn't make it to one year, but I'm glad I was able to do it for 9.5 months!!!! I'm having Pizza for dinner tonight! Yeah!!!

Hubby has been helping out with Doodlebug a lot lately. He has been the one putting Doodles to bed at night to get him used to not nursing before bedtime. Doodlebug is so lucky to have such a great Father. Doodle's eyes light up every night when he sees Daddy come home from work. Doodles and I are so lucky to have him in our lives. We can't wait for Father's Day to show him how much we appreciate him!

Mom and Dad, you need to get up here to visit your grandson! Here are some videos of him playing on the coffee table! Enjoy!

PS~ That part about having more babies is totally a fib. Hubby reads this blog and I thought it would be funny just to see the look on his face :o) Love you babe!

Weekend Recap!

All weekends should be 3 days long. Two days just isn't enough time together. Saturday, hubby and I painted our master bathroom. Our 2 month bathroom remodel is finally DONE!!! It took a lot longer than we hoped.

On Sunday, we all went boating. Hubby's cousin, J, flew in from Arizona. She is spending 2 weeks of her summer vacation with us. Doodlebug loves to stare and play with her.

Doodlebug has such a tough week of eating, sleeping, and playing that he needs to relax in the lake to de-stress! What a life.

Before you watch the following video, make sure your volume is on. Hubby and I were in our bathroom and we heard this strange noise. We followed the sound and it lead us to Doodlebug's room. He takes after his Grandpa!

Don't forget to scroll down and check out the video I added to the "Domestic Engineer" Post!
