As you know, Doodle Bug has had a Milk Soy Protein Intolerance, which just means his insides can't properly process a certain type of protein that is found in cow's milk and soy. Therefore, since birth, Doodle Bug has not been able to eat any foods that contain milk and or soy. Few kids outgrow this intolerance by age one, and about 90% outgrow it by age 3.
When Doodle's turned one, we were told to begin introducing small amounts of milk and watch for any type of reaction. So he has been eating foods such as waffles, bread, french toast, pretzels... that all contain milk. Today, he went for his check-up with his Gastroenterologist and we were given GOOD news. He shows NO sign of any reactions to the small amounts of milk he has ingested. Woohoo!!!! Now, we get to give him small amounts of cow's milk to drink and keep watching for any type of reactions. Keep him in your prayers that he has outgrown the MSPI.
About 30 minutes ago, I mixed 1 oz of cow's milk with his rice milk and he drank it up! I hope he is well and doesn't get a tummy ache!
